Selective Corporate Internship Program
Enlighten. Employ. Empower.
Selective Corporate Internship Program (SCIP), a national 501 (c) (3) non-profit, tax exempt organization was founded in 1997 by Monica and Miguel Mancebo to provide intensive, business career training to talented underserved high school, undergraduate, graduate, and MBA students, as well as early career professionals. SCIP’s mission is to “Enlighten, Employ, and Empower” diverse underprivileged students and professionals for successful careers through corporate mentorship, leadership development, and internship opportunities.
Founders Miguel and Monica McClure Mancebo are successful entrepreneurs and former Corporate HR Executives with a wealth of experience in career transition services and talent acquisition. The Mancebos were aware of the lack of opportunities for young people, whose backgrounds might not allow them to consider careers in Corporate Business, STEAM* and Hospitality. They developed a plan to train deserving students from diverse and disadvantaged environments, and to connect them with outstanding corporations. The Mancebos in collaboration with their corporate supporters (many Fortune 500 companies and successful entrepreneurs) provide critical technical and essential career skills training to these outstanding students, establishing a win-win situation for both the students and corporations. SCIP provides a long term strategy that enhances their education and prepares them to be tomorrow’s global leaders.
This site was developed by one such SCIP student, under the guidance and management of the Mancebos. BCF is proud to have been selected by SCIP as deserving of the talent of a SCIP student, and considers this partnership to be a win-win.
*STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics
